Director, First Person Cooperative
Drummond Reed is the founder and lead organizer of the First Person Project and a Director of the First Person Cooperative. He has been a significant figure in Internet identity, security, privacy, and trust infrastructure for over a quarter-century. Reed has held various leadership roles, including Director of Trust Services at Gen (formerly Avast) and Chief Trust Officer at Evernym. He is also co-author of the book “Self-Sovereign Identity” and co-editor of the W3C Decentralized Identifiers 1.0 specification. Reed is a founding board member of the OpenWallet Foundation and Trust Over IP Foundation, where he serves as co-chair of the Technology Stack Working Group, the Concepts and Terminology Working Group, and the Decentralized Trust Graph Working Group. His work has been recognized with the Digital Identity Pioneer Award from Digital ID World and the OASIS Distinguished Contributor citation in 2013.
