Paul Platen is the Chair for Digital Identity New Zealand and has participated in the Identity landscape in varied roles and projects. 

His experience includes consulting, designing, and overseeing the deployment of technology solutions for digital identities, Cryptography, authentication, facial and fingerprint biometrics, smartcards, and fraud management. 

Projects he has participated in includes employee verification using biometrics, implementing a national ID card scheme, fraud prevention using biometrics and smartcards  and implementing cryptographic security for a leading aircraft manufacturer on their aircraft. 

His extensive experience within the banking, government, insurance, retail and aviation industries developing strategy and technology roadmaps in New Zealand, Australia, Africa and the United States.
